Since my last post about me starting my new diet I haven’t posted. I really wanted to see how the first month went before I started doing weekly updates. I wanted to get a true sense of what it was like, how I would feel, if it would be successful and if so how much.
Well, here is my one month review of HerbaLife shakes and routine.
I love it! I am staying full all day long, sometimes it comes time for snacks or my next meal and I am not yet hungry. I have had noticeable results not just from myself when I am neeked in the mirror but by so many people who see me daily! Co-workers, babysitter, friends, and family even my hubby has made comments on how good I am looking.
How much weight have I lost you ask. Well as off this morning I am down a total of 14 lbs.! That is just in a month! My goal was to lose at least 10 lbs.; I figured 2.5 pounds a week would be ideal for me and reaching my goal of losing a total of 93 lbs.
My daily routine is this. I wake up at 6am most days and have my first shake by 7 or 7:30. Then at 10-10:30 I have my first snack, which is usually a quarter cup of almonds or a HerbaLife beverage drink mix with 10-14 almonds. By 1-1:30 I am having my lunch shake followed by another snack at 4-4:30. Finally dinner is at 7-7:30 sometimes a little later. Mainly my later dinner is on Monday’s since that is the day I work until 7pm. After dinner I am usually in bed between 10 & 11. They say you can have another small snack if you are going to be like five hours after dinner but I have honestly never gone to bed feeling hungry.
Here is the breakdown of my weight loss this month.
Week one – 5 pounds lost
Week two – 1.5 pounds lost
Week three – 3.1 pounds lost
Week four – 4.4 pounds lost
So this is an average of 3.5 pounds lost per week! How amazing is that!
My energy level is higher, I am not craving the bad horrible no good for my body food that I wanted SO badly before. Instead I am excited for my salads and chicken and shakes. I am playing with the flavors so I don’t get tired of the same flavors from day to day.
I have tried the Café Latte, French Vanilla, Dulce de Leche & Chocolate. And you know what they are all SO delicious! I have mixed in some vanilla extract, cinnamon and even nutmeg a couple times. Just doing that will give it just a hint of a new flavor and makes it seem exciting and new. Like mixing the nutmeg with the vanilla makes it taste like Egg Nog which is something I LOVE during the holiday season.
I have my one cheat meal a week and it helps curve those bad habits of mine, but even when I have my cheat meal it is a modified version or a smaller portion than I would have had before starting this.
I am a long way from my goal but I feel closer than I have ever felt before.
Let’s take a look to where I started.
Starting Weight – 223 pounds
Current Weight – 209.7 pounds
Goal Weight – 130 pounds
Pounds to go – 79 pounds!!!!
If I continue to do as well as I have been, and lose at least 2.5 pounds a week I will be at my goal weight by April of 2014. Just in time for my birthday! And new clothes shopping for said birthday ;)
What I plan on doing different this month is starting to integrate some light exercise. That’s right folk’s this whole month I have not worked out and have had success. So if I add in some light cardio and weights this month it should help boost my weight loss and help me tone while I do so.
